for 1866, all number stamps co-marked with a letter 'L', octagonal 7 1/2in. barrel, the breech end signed 'ADDRESS COL SAML. COLT NEW-YORK U.S. AMERICA', London proofs, plain cylinder with traces of roll-engraved scene (lightly cleaned, some frosting), open iron frame with strong traces of colour, brass trigger-guard and grip-straps, smooth walnut one-piece grip stamped with the 'Enfield' roundel and colour-hardened articulated under-barrel loading lever, strong amount of finish remaining, possibly renewed in antiquity
